Anyone who knew Kenny
Morris, can’t forget his smile and warm, gentle, encouraging
nature, says Estella Osborn Newton County Cattlemen’s
Association president. When Kenny Morris passed away
unexpectedly 2 years ago, he left a void in his small
community. But Kenny didn’t leave the area unprepared as he
had mentored many area youth, cattlemen and other members of
his region. He worked many hours on programs and attending
meeting at the state level. Kenny’s goal was to educate the
cattle rancher of Newton County and to improve the cattle
industry in the area. Second to being a cattleman, he was
proud that he had returned to college and received a degree
from Crowder College. He was a true promoter and advocate
for the college. He knew first hand and firmly believed in
the value of a good education. It was important to him that
young people in his area have the opportunity to better
themselves. That legacy will continue now with the Kenny
Morris Memorial Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship will be
administered by the Missouri’s Cattlemen Foundation and
awarded to a Crowder College Student.
